Four-Stage Filtration
Contaminants pass through three progressively efficient filters and four stages of filtration:
Stage 1:
The inexpensive, one-inch deep Fiber-Trapper® prefilter captures larger
particulates (50-100 microns) and extends the life of the subsequent
filters. It has exceptional dirt-holding capacity, and can be used as a
disposable, or cleaned and reused over and over again.
Stages 2 and 3:
A dual-purpose pleated secondary filter combines a media layer with
MERV 7 ASHRAE particulate-capture efficiency and Vapor-Lock® carbon
media for lighter concentrations of gases, odors and VOC. A
high-capacity Vapor-Lock® filter is available separately.
Stage 4:
The metal frame HEPA filter is tested and certified to a filtration
efficiency of 99.97% or greater @ 0.3 microns. This filter meets
IEST-RP-CC001.3 specifications for Type A HEPA filters andcomplies with
HEPA recommendations in the 2003 CDC Infection Control Guidelines.
